FRIDAY “B” LEAGUE RULES 11/12

1.                  The League shall be USBC Governed.

2.                  The League shall bowl every Friday at 6:45 p.m.

3.                  An 8 point scoring system, 2 points each game, 2 points for totals.

4.                  Lane fees - $97.00 pair, $776.00 per week.  Bowling fees are $16.00 per man for 33 weeks.

5.                  Team Handicap – 80% of difference between team average.  I.e. 1000 average vs 1030 = 24 pins handicap

                    to lower average team.

6.                  Bowlers returning from the previous season shall use their league average from 2011 for 9 games. 

                    New bowlers shall use last years highest book average for 9 games.  The team average shall be computed thereafter                                 according to the current weekly average.  No average the previous 3 seasons, the bowler will use 180 as an average until 9                         games are bowled.

7.                  Blind Score – bowlers average -10 pins for an absent bowler. If two regulars are absent and have there is one sub the bowler                       with the most games bowled is to be used as the blind.

8.                  Open substitution allowed.  Roving subs OK.  Team roster to be turned in to the league secretary.

9.                  A tardy bowler has until the last bowler on each team has completed the 3rd frame.

10.             A bowler can bowl out with the opposing captains’ permission.

11.             A team can use three (3) subs on any night. Two members of the original roster must be present or the games are forfeited.                        Three (3) men constitute a legal lineup. .

12.              The league will bowl a balanced Schedule Plus (3) position rounds.  Weeks 16 & 32 are the position rounds for each half.                          Week 33 will be an overall season position round for 3rd thru 16th place and the 1st and 2nd half winners will bowl for the                           league championship.

13.             In the event of a lane breakdown, the teams shall roll canceled games in ten (10) days.  If this occurs on the last night, these                     games should be made up in two (2) days.  Any team unable to field a team shall forfeit.  A tie for first on this date will be                  rolled off immediately.  All unfinished games to start over.  USBC rules to govern when more than 2 teams tie for first.

14.             Three (3) bowlers must be present by the end of the 3rd frame to constitute a legal lineup or the game is forfeited. (follow                    USBC rules for bowling unopposed)

15.             A committee shall be put together for nominations for the George Peters sportsmanship award. The persons name to go on the                  plaque displayed at Domms bowling center

16.             Sponsor fee - $75.00 payable by December 1st.

17.             Secretary/Treasurer office combined.  ($400.00 salary – (16 teams)

18.             A bowler shall have rolled 2/3 of the season to qualify for special prizes. (paying member  bowlers only)

19.             Any paying regular bowler rolling 700 for the 1st time ever shall receive a trophy if he does not qualify in the High 3 game                 category.

20.             Singles tournament on the 2nd last week.  Only paying regulars eligible.

21.             Most improved bowler award to go to a bowler who bowled in the league the previous season.

22.             All bowlers are to be sanctioned ($18.00).  Sanction fees to be paid the 1st night.  If a team knowingly uses an unsanctioned                               bowler they shall forfeit all the games he was used in.  (Captains are to have all bowlers fill out sanction cards.)

23.             Each team to pay a franchise fee of $30.00 to be held in escrow until they leave the league.  This money will be refunded to                        them upon notification to the league secretary by the 2nd last week of the season.  After this date, if a team notifies the                             secretary by August 1st and a team is found by the 1st night of bowling, the money will be refunded.

24.             At the end of the season, no more than $25.00 to be carried on the books.  Franchise Fees excluded.

25.             The league President shall keep a check on league funds and report any discrepancies to the league.

26.             The league Banquet will be held   1-2 weeks following the season finale. The banquet will be on 4/27 or 5/4

27.             All captains to be canvassed during the month of March to nominate the person of their choice to run for office the following                        season.  Entire league to vote in April.

28.             The league will donate $15.00 in the memory of any league member who passes away or if the member of his immediate                            family passes away.  A fruit basket or equivalent will be sent to a league member ill for more than 6 weeks.  (Captain must                         notify the Secretary.)

29.             A team shall not be more than $100.00 in arrears or points will be forfeited.  Teams bowling in all forfeit situations shall follow                     the USBC rulebook.
